The Venice Marathon a was born only in 1986 and the first edition was won by Salvatore BETTIOL. The event was defined by the press as one of the most important events of the racing season. The 1st Venicemarathon registered over two thousand registered participants with representations from every nation. Subsequent editions became one of the biggest world events in the discipline, culminating in the 35th edition of the Huawei Venicemarathon.
