The Feast of the Redeemer is absolutely one of the most heartfelt celebrations for Venetians. It is a tradition that dates back to 1577 when, at the end of the terrible plague that struck the city, the citizens commissioned Andrea Palladio to build the Church of the Redeemer on Giudecca Island. Every year, on the Feast of the Redeemer, a 330-meter-long votive bridge of boats is built connecting the Redentore church to the Zattere, a long fondamenta that forms the southern limit of the city of Venice.
This festival, which has become a draw for thousands of tourists today, allows people to savor the more authentic and religious side of Venice; but also the more mundane side, dictated by boat festivities and spectacular fireworks.
The hotel is located less than five minutes by walk from the public water transportation service, with uninterrupted runs, both day and night, connecting the Lido to Venice St. Mark's Square.
