The event that more than any other revives Venice's bond with the Sea and the practice of Voga Veneta. On Sunday, May 12, the Festa della Sensa is celebrated, accompanied by the "Adriatic Twinning" ceremony, which this year includes the passing of the doge ring to the Ukrainian city of Odessa. Mayor Gennady Trukhanov and Ukrainian Ambassador to Italy Yaroslav Melnyk will receive it from representatives of the provincial capitals of the Veneto region (Belluno, Padua, Rovigo, Treviso, Verona, and Vicenza), to whom it had been handed over in 2021 as a tribute to the link between the cities and Venice on the occasion of the 1,600th anniversary of its founding.
