A unique scenario will once again be the setting for the 4rd edition of the Venice Open Water - Nuadalonga - Lucia Monti Memorial.
Swimming event to be held on June 09, 2024 in the waters in front of the blue moon.
Sports kermesse now entered the heart of the island represents the highlight of the lidense sports summer.
The creator of the event is Gugliemo Serafini assisted by swimmers Riccardo Puggiotto , former world champion Fabrizio Pescatori, Stefano Distefano, Tobia Badoer, Stefano Rossi forerunner of Triathlon in Italy, and Guido Rizzo triathlete and president of Triathlon Venezia.
Thanks to the patronage of the Municipality of Venice and above all to the synergy between Venezia Triathlon, organizer of the race, the Proloco of Lido and Pellestrina led by Barbara Pitteri, the consortium Venezia e il suo Lido and Venezia Spiagge represented by the president Pierluigi Padoan, it was possible to realize a sporting event that brought to the Lido in the two previous editions each with about 800 people, including athletes of national and international fame and accompanying persons.
The swimming races will take place throughout the day. The first race will be the 800-meter sprint swim, the second the 1852-meter sea mile, and the third 3.5km . There will also be ranking for the combined, given by the sum of the times of the mile race and the 3.5km.
The races will be held in the Venice Beaches stretch of water, specifically starting and finishing at the Blue Moon, and will have a rectangular course to be repeated according to the race distance.
Numerous local sponsors will also support the event through their handicrafts and murano glass products that will be made as prizes for the winners for the final party at the conclusion of the event on the terrace of the Blue Moon.
Guarding the race course for the entire event will be State Police watercraft and Coast Guard watercraft.
We hope that a sporting event like ours can act as a driving force for a new spirit of rebirth for the island.
