Venice Marathon, Sunday, 28.10.2012

The oldest Olympic discipline will take place in the marvellous setting of Venice on 28 April.

Once again the marathon runners will leave from Strà, along the beautiful Riviera del Brenta, once the holiday residence resort of Venetian nobility and famous worldwide for its renowned Palladian villas.

The route is particularly challenging towards the end of the 42 km when they reach the city: the athletes will go up and down bridges and cross the Grand Canal over a bridge made of boats, crossing Saint Mark's Square in the shade of the bell tower before crossing the finishing line in Riva Sette Martiri.
